PROF.MOHAMMAD ALI RECEIVED THE KHAN BAHADUR ABU NASOR MOHD AHIYA ( JITU MIAH) AWARD –2008

Professor Mohammad Ali, Founder Secretary General of the Liver Foundation of Bangladesh received the prestigious Khan Bahadur Abu Nasor Mohammad Ahiya ( Jitu Miah) Award –2008 for his praiseworthy contribution in the prevention and treatment of liver diseases in Bangladesh, specially for his key role for organizing the Liver Foundation of Bangladesh. Khan Bahadur Ahiya Wokof Estate ,Sylhet is a voluntary organization ,created by Khan Bahadur Abu Nasor Mohammad Ahiya (Jitu Miah) by making the Trust (wokof) with all his properties in 1922. Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Division as its chief caretaker (Motawalli). This Trust offers honorable awards to renowned personalities for their commendable contribution in the various fields of development in Bangladesh. This award was given by Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Choudhury, Hon. Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Expatriates Welfare & Overseas Employment , Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh in an auspicious award giving ceremony held at Sylhet District Council Auditorium on December 14, 2008 . Dr. Zafor Ahmed Khan ,Divisional commissioner of Sylhet Division was the chairperson of the ceremony. Mr. Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, Mr. Sazzadul Hassan , Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet and Mrs.Sufia Khatun member of Trustee board were present.
